Ida Kvetny
is an interdisciplinary artist based in Copenhagen, working across painting, sculpture, relief, installation, and extended XR-based formats. Her practice unfolds at the intersection of classical art traditions and emerging technologies, where AI, AR, VR, and digital modeling operate not as tools, but as integral material conditions.
Kvetny’s works take form as hybrid environments in which physical and virtual elements coexist and continuously inform one another. Through digital twins, spatial imaging, and layered surfaces in paint, clay, plaster, and textiles, she explores how artworks can exist simultaneously across media, time, and scale.
Central to her practice is an intuitive and embodied approach, where the unconscious acts as a generative force. Drawing on speculative thinking and cyberfeminist perspectives, Kvetny constructs open-ended systems that resist fixed interpretation, inviting viewers to move between sensory experience, historical reference, and digital presence.
Her work engages with questions of authorship, memory, and technological transformation, often unfolding as site-specific installations that respond to architecture and audience interaction. Operating across both exhibition and public contexts, her works are conceived as living structures that can evolve, adapt, and be reactivated over time.
Kvetny has recently presented her work at Centre Pompidou Málaga in the exhibition Future Fossils, and is currently engaged in several large-scale public art commissions, including a major integrated commission for Vrå Swimming Centre in Denmark. Alongside her artistic practice, she develops long-term digital and museological strategies, focusing on how contemporary artworks can be archived, maintained, and reinterpreted across future contexts.
